Some secrets

Some secrets are told to close friends
whispered to ears between classes
written on notebooks in purple ink

Some secrets are kept between lovers
sneaked during lunch hours in deserted conference rooms
smeared on dirty sheets in sleazy motel rooms

Some secrets are shouted to the universe
mumbled on a microphone during half-time
announced on the high school intercom with Radiohead on the background

Some secrets are never said
locked away in a chest, buried
hidden in the crevices of the mind

Ignored and dismissed
left to rot
